Here's a site that has tons of information and a great group of support. This is the first site that I went to when I first found out I was going to have a hysterectomy. Please give them a look and a chance to help you out also!!!

Hysterectomy Support by HysterSisters.com

This is a book that the owner of HysterSisters wrote. I got this right before my hysterectomy and it was the most helpful book that I read during this time of my life. Just click on the book below and it will take you directly to Amazon.com so that you can look into it further. I highly recommend it to all ladies having a hysterectomy.

Here's my story dealing with Hysterectomies. I went to my ob/gyn at the beginning of December 1999 for my yearly pap smear and check up. After doing my internal exam, she told me that my Uterus was falling and that I should consider having a hysterectomy before it fell out completely. What I had was called a Prolapsed Uterus.

She then mentioned to me that I should see an urologist to also see if my bladder was prolapsing. Since they do seem to go hand in hand with each other. I went and sure enough he said I needed a bladder sling (Stamey).

I felt that she had explained enough to me, and since she had never done me wrong I totally trusted her opinion. That was a mistake... ALWAYS get another opinion or two. And if your insurance will allow it, make it a totally different group than the one your doctor works with.

So on Feb. 7th, 2000, I entered the hospital to have my TVH/RSO and Stamey done. Prior to this I was scared, nervous and this was all I could think about. I was lucky to find a chat/message board that I could find so many answers from. I also made MANY new friends. Sisters who either had gone through, or was going through the exact same feelings.

Since then I have had some problems. If you would like to know more about them, feel free to write me either in e-mail or write in my message forum.

Anyhow, I am now a crowned Princess.
See my picture to see me in my proud state!
I'd like to give credit to my friend Pooh and her daughter Nicole for my beautiful crown.
Didn't they do a beautiful job?
